This beautiful fairy quilt wall hanging is a full size pattern, sewn with the needleturn applique method, but would look good with any other form of applique. Extra optional embroidery ideas included on your pattern. For an extra touch, small glass seed beads and sequins were added as an embellishment to the flowers and sections of the fairy's wings. Placement is indicated on the pattern. A stippling effect on the quilting, helps to flatten the background and make the fairy and flowers appear to jump out of the picture. Use this pattern to create your own textile art piece. Needleturn is a hand sewing technique, the pieces are not fused to the background, they are sewn on by hand, using a small hemming stitch turning the edges under. (Although, you can of course make it up in your method of choice, the instructions supplied are for that of the needleturn technique). Using basic patchwork for the background and borders, the applique is then applied. After optional embroidery using beads sequins or thread finally the finished wall hanging is quilted using a random stippled quilting.
